There is a lot of focus on the US elections due to recent events, but it has also been a big year for elections globally, including in key emerging markets like Mexico and India. One trend that CFRA Research has been highlighting for some time now is the ‘unbundling’ of EM exposure. Till recently, China was almost 30% of the MSCI EM index – due to its underperformance, many investors have been investing in EM Ex-China or single country #ETFs. If return dispersion between EM countries continues to be high, investors will increasingly use more targeted ETF to get EM exposure as an alternative to broad ETFs like $IEMG. https://lnkd.in/gQFsRuaW

The recent Russell index reconstitution is a reminder that investors need to pay attention to the stocks in indices, and the ETFs that track them. As Matt Egan points out in this CNN article, the recent reconstitution resulted in stocks like Trump Media ($DJT) being added to the Russell 1000 index, which is something investors may care about. Thanks to Matt for including commentary from CFRA Research in his article. One of the benefits of ETFs is the transparency they provide, but looking into the holdings is critical for investors. https://lnkd.in/gm-TXJZp
