    Connecting those experiencing homelessness with vital community resources and support is the goal of the Salem Housing Authority Resource Event on Tuesday, August 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wallace Marine Park.     Do you live in the area near Livingston Park. If so, we need your input to help guide a makeover of the park's playground at 2855 Hawthorne Avenue NE. We're preparing to replace the aging play structure with new equipment that is fun and safe for kids (and adults) of all ages. Funds from the Safety and Livability Bond passed by voters in 2022 are paying for the project. Please take a few minutes to answer questions that will help us understand what kind of play structure you'd like at Livingston Park. The survey closes July 23.     Do you live in the area near Morningside Park. If so, we need your input to help guide a makeover of the park's playground at 1330 Ewald Avenue SE and its multi-use sports court. We're preparing to replace the aging playground equipment with new equipment that is fun and safe for kids (and adults) of all ages. We are also preparing to upgrade the worn out multi-use sports court with a new facility that will better serve the neighborhood. Funds from the Safety and Livability Bond passed by voters in 2022 are paying for the project.     Salem Mayor Chris Hoy, right, will be a guest speaker at an upcoming fundraiser for the Englewood Forest Festival on Tuesday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. at Salem Cinema. The Mayor will use his time to speak about downtown revitalization efforts, construction of new rental housing projects and the Truitt Brothers revitalization project. The event is a benefit screening of the movie "Phoenix, Oregon," an inspirational comedy. Defying midlife haze, two friends seize upon an opportunity to reinvent their lives, quitting their jobs to restore an old bowling alley and serve the "world's greatest pizza."
