The City of Waco has created an Employee Engagement Team. This voluntary advisory group will provide input on various City initiatives and programs and help communicate these initiatives throughout the organization. There are representatives from several departments who volunteered for the new team. They used many words to describe their desire to be part of the team including collaboration, transparency, and growth. We look forward to the great things this team will accomplish!

Congratulations to City Secretary Michelle Hicks and her office on receiving the Municipal Clerk's Office Achievement of Excellence Award. This award is given by the Texas Municipal Clerks' Association and was designed to recognize excellence in the effective and efficient management of resources in a municipal clerk's office. As the City of Waco and the Cameron Park Zoo prepare for the new penguin exhibit, Creative Waco's ARTPrenticeship artists have been painting three South African-inspired murals that will be on display in the Penguin Shores exhibit. Creative Waco launched the ARTPrenticeship program to pair talented high schoolers with professional artists to create public murals that beautify the city. The penguins will make their grand entrance at Cameron Park Zoo on August 8th! #wacotexas #wacotx
