Tentative start date is August 2024 and end date in August 2025. This position is 38 hours/week. The NBS Coordinator works with students to create a resilient campus habitat for native species and develops opportunities for students to engage with and learn about their natural community. Planting native perennial plants and trees for restoration projects is a good example of activities. The coordinator also enables students to use their campuses as a classroom and visit open spaces throughout the city to deepen their learning. Additional programming that the coordinator would be responsible for is monitoring wildlife and pollinators on school campuses and helping students share results. The coordinator supports and maintains stakeholder relationships with Burlington School District teachers and administrators. Alongside education programming, the coordinator is also responsible for developing and maintaining a native plant nursery that supports student-led restoration projects and community partnerships.
