The ACC has recognized Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients who come to a cardiac cath lab for care. This accreditation was awarded based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who come to the cardiac cath lab and confirms that we continue to meet or exceed national standards for cardiac care.

We are proud to announce that Wilkes-Barre General Hospital has once again been recognized by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) as an accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack. This designation is the ACC's highest level of accreditation for Chest Pain Centers and reaffirms that Wilkes-Barre General Hospital provides the most advanced and timely evidence-based care to patients in our community.

We’re proud to share that Vitaly Geyfman, D.O., FHRS, just completed our first cardiac ablation procedure at Regional Hospital of Scranton using the new Pulsed Field Ablation System for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF). Used extensively across the globe, this technology is designed to provide #PulsedFieldAblation therapy to treat patients with paroxysmal AF, which causes an irregular and often abnormally fast heart rate. https://lnkd.in/gP6rJznc
