Healthcare organizations and pharmacies nationwide have been greatly impacted by Change Healthcare’s recent cyber-attack. The attack occurred on 2/21/24, and it resulted in Change Healthcare completely shutting down its systems. They still have not been able to recover their full functionality. Most pharmacies nationwide have been unable to verify benefits, check eligibility, or submit pharmacy claims since the attack. Can you imagine? You’re a patient with a rare disease, it may have taken you years to even be diagnosed and now you can’t get your medicine. From the moment we became aware of this issue, our leaders began to diligently work on a contingency plan to ensure our patients could still receive treatment. Our team worked with the mantra “No Patient Left Behind”. I am proud to report that CSI Pharmacy did not have a single patient go without receiving their medication! All patients received their medication ON TIME without a delay in the infusions that they rely on for quality of life! This took the work and collaboration of many different teams. While many other pharmacies and competitors are still down, our systems are fully restored, and we are back to business as usual. I want to personally thank everyone who worked over the weekend and late into the night to adjudicate the back claims in late February and early March. The bottom-line is that CSI Pharmacy has the best team-members in the industry. We are passionate about the care we provide and will always put PATIENTS FIRST! -James Sheets, Founder & CEO 📸 CSI Pharmacy's War Room during the Change Healthcare shutdown.
