Cummins recently attended the July First Friday event organized by Main Street Greencastle. 🎉🎊 In fact, we also attended the First Friday celebration in June, and we plan to be there in August, September and October as well. Highlighted by local arts and crafts, vendor booths, food trucks, live music, and games for kids and families, First Fridays fill the streets of the Historic Courthouse Square and attract visitors from all over West Central Indiana. Pictured in the attached photo is Tom Kixmiller, a Licensed Outpatient Therapist at our Greencastle office. We encourage everyone to come out and see us at the remaining Greencastle First Fridays this summer and fall! 🙌🫶 #FirstFriday #MainStreetGreencastle #CommunityEvent #HistoricCourthouseSquare #SummerInGreencastle #GreencastleEvents #FamilyFun

"A consumer started in Wraparound services because they exhibited several risk behaviors such as sneaking out of the house at night, sneaking peers into their room, and making statements such as, “I’m done,” and then packing personal belongings. They are smart but did very poorly in school and were in physical fights with their peers. They argued constantly with their grandparents (guardians) and sibling. They were not allowed to ride the school bus, so their grandfather had to take them to school, and they would argue about anything and everything on the drive. The family couldn’t go out in the community due to fear of how the consumer would behave. The consumer and their grandparents have worked hard to change things around. They have learned how to manage their emotions so they can just enjoy being a kid. They did well in school and had very good grades last semester. During spring break, the family went for a little vacation, and they all got along. This summer, the consumer took classes to become a chef and also got their driver’s permit. Their grandparents report that they are careful and a good driver. Their grandmother works late often, and the consumer sometimes cooks supper for the family. The consumer has successfully completed the Wraparound program." — A success story of a child who received youth and family services from Cummins Behavioral Health. ✨ Cummins offers a variety of behavioral health services for children and families, including Office and Community-based Services, School-based Services, Family Preservation Services, and Wraparound Services. "A student was recommended for services after placement into a foster home. The student struggled with aggression toward peers, impulsivity, sadness/anxiety, sleep disturbances, and PTSD from their former living situation. The student would return home to foster parents after school and have extreme anger outbursts. The student, their foster parents, their providers, the WRAP team, and the medical support team all worked together in order to aid with their mood changes. The student is currently still residing with foster parents, has found consistency in all aspects, and an adoption date has been set for the student later this month. The student still struggles with anxiety and the fear of the unknown, however they are able to manage their anger and anxiety much better now. The student and their foster family are now able to attend events and go out into the town, which is something they did not think would ever happen. The student is still currently in service and is doing amazing. They are able to use what they are learning in skills training and apply it to life. This is an amazing success story of providers, family, and the school putting in the work to help aid and heal trauma." — A success story of a child receiving youth and family services from Cummins Behavioral Health. 💝 Cumming offers a variety of behavioral health services for children and families, including Office and Community-based Services, School-based Services, Family Preservation Services, and Wraparound Services.
