Friday Forum! Friday, March 8, 2024 12:00 PM - 12:45 PM What Does New England Need to Know About Making Design-Build Successful! Join the design-build community to explore and share your experiences with important topics in delivery issues, such as risks, people factors, management, best practices and new thinking. 45 minutes of open conversation by all who attend, led by practitioners in the field! Design-Build is an important tool that many agencies have used effectively to help implement their capital improvement programs. As it becomes more prevalent in New England – it may be helpful to understand how the industry has adapted to risks and developed new approaches that balance risk more appropriately. How is this being accomplished, why have some states adopted these practices so openly, and are they tools that public agencies in New England may benefit from as well? Join Friday Forum to discuss how multiple design-build methods are being used by FDOT to implement highly complex projects along Florida’s most congested corridors and how the engineering and contracting community are making this a success! We will learn from our special presenter Jim Avitabile, P.E., FDBIA, Sr. Practice Development Leader - Design-Build, RK&K, Orlando, Florida. Jim is a national expert in alternative project delivery in Florida, serving as a senior advisor on a variety of complex highway, bridge, toll roads, interchanges, managed lanes, rail, and transit facilities projects In addition to his work for FDOT, and other US agencies, he served as a project advisor locally on projects for MassDOT, MBTA, MassPort, and the city of Boston. Facilitated By: Joanne Linowes, Principal, Linowes Executive Development Institute, LLC For additional informtion: dbiane.org #designbuild #constructionmanagement
