7 years ago (June 2017) DC ConnX (formerly known as DC Connections) started with 6 data center professionals and friends who share a common affinity to a data rich environment unlike any other known in the history of mankind. Also known as “The Internet Capitol, “The Manhattan of the Internet”, “Data Center Alley”, or simply “former farmland”, Ashburn, VA quickly became the known as having the ideal infrastructure to host data center growth. The foundation created by internet companies (dot-comers), data center operators, internet infrastructure suppliers, fiber providers, Dominion Energy, and many more, fertilized a small American town to grow into the most preeminent technology mecca in the world. DC ConnX allows industry professionals to enjoy casual discussions on data centers, technology, and services over coffee, wine, great local craft brews, and fabulous music and sponsors. After expenses, 100% of net proceeds go to meaningful organizations such as faith-based, charitable foundations and first responders.
Yesterday marked the 77th DC ConnX event in the last 84 months. The road from 2017 has had some difficulties including a pandemic, the loss of a best friend, and professional changes…but God is always Good.
DC ConnX has always been an opportunity for companies, professionals to have discrete conversations while having a lot of fun vs. conferences that manufacture conversations through a pay to play platform. DC ConnX is excited for what is coming soon with our 4th Annual Networking Concert Fundraiser and launching of new events in 2025. Never say never.
Be better today, than the day before.
