Sometimes open cell #cellularcofferdams can be an option in your #deepexcavation design. The risks though can be many as you need to carry hoop action back into the soil through the turns. If hoop action is not guaranteed the #steel sheets might switch mode from ring action into a 2D. Because flat panel sheets are typically used this would spell #geotechnical #collapse. In this case, a 3D #geotechnical #finitelement model with DeepEX, at some point the model does not converge on the last stage indicating collapse. Follow Deep Excavation LLC for more!

🤔 FAQ: Can DeepEX Consider a Sealed Excavation? Are you a geotechnical engineer looking to manage groundwater pressures effectively in your DeepEX models? Our advanced shoring design software, DeepEX, offers robust solutions for sealing excavations and ensuring stability. Explore the Sealing Option in DeepEX, where you can create a liner at the bottom of the base slab to act as a barrier against groundwater. This feature prevents water seepage into the excavation, enhancing the integrity of your design. DeepEX calculates hydrostatic pressures below the excavation level using a simplified flow method, accurately representing the forces on the base slab. Visualize the impact of groundwater with DeepEX’s vertical pressure display, helping you understand and mitigate the effects on your excavation design. Integrate the 2D Finite Element Analysis engine in DeepEX to include additional structural elements like tiedowns and foundation piles. These elements are essential for counteracting uplift water pressures and supporting the base slab. Elevate your geotechnical projects by downloading the necessary files from our site. With DeepEX, you can master the complexities of sealed excavations, ensuring precision and efficiency. Transform your projects with our comprehensive tools.

What #dedication to our #geotechnical craft means to me. This Sunday one of our #DeepEX users from #NewZealand asked how to model a peanut shaped #deepexcavation with #secantpiles. The software only had the #reinforced #concrete diaphragm wall option on the wizard, so our team scrambled and added the feature in two days so our friend and user can save tons of time in their 3D #finitelementanalysis model. What takes days to create in other software can now be created in less than 5 minutes in DeepEX. Follow Deep Excavation LLC for more!
