Retour sur le festival “InFocus: Canadian Cinema Festival”, organisé par NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA). Ce weekend, à Downtown Los Angeles, 13 films indépendants, dont certains programmés à SXSW, Tribeca et Slamdance ont été projetés à un public de l’industrie du cinéma d’Hollywood. Parmi ceux-ci, quatre films québécois ont retenu l’attention et la curiosité de l’audience grâce à leur originalité, créativité, et émotion: “A Toi Les Oreilles” d’Alexandre Isabelle, “Lumen” de Stéphanie Bélanger, “Je Me Souviens” de Raphaël Pettigrew, et “ick” d’Indi Opzoomer. Nous étions heureux d’apporter notre soutien à ce festival très apprécié mettant en valeur la diversité, l'inclusion et donnant la possibilité à de jeunes cinéastes de développer leur réseau et initier de nouveaux projets. Félicitations aux réalisateurs et leurs talents qui font rayonner le cinéma québécois dans l’Ouest américain. 🤝 This July, we were honored and delighted to welcome a delegation from the California State Senate to #QuébecCity, #Montréal, #StBruno, and #Bromont to foster international collaboration and explore advancements in sustainability and technology. The distinguished mission participants immersed themselves in a rich public policy and cultural program which included: 🌳 🔋 Strategic discussions with key Québec government officials on wildfire collaboration, carbon markets, green economy initiatives, forest offset protocols, and Québec’s mining and EV battery strategy; ⚡Innovative site visits to the Lithion Technologies (battery recycling) facility in St. Bruno and the MiQro Innovation Collaboration Center (C2MI) at the Bromont microelectronics innovation zone Technum Québec to see the latest in innovation and technology; 💡 An exploration of the Mila - Institut québécois d'intelligence artificielle to understand the forefront of artificial intelligence research; 🎵 A once-in-a-lifetime special concert by pianist Alexandra Stréliski and musicians from The Orchestre symphonique de Québec at the vibrant Festival d'été de Québec. ⚜ Hier, notre équipe a eu l'honneur de participer à la Fête nationale de France organisée par le Consulate General of France in Los Angeles, en présence de nombreux partenaires locaux, et ce, à quelques jours du début des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques estivaux de Paris. 🎉 Nous avons profité de cette occasion spéciale pour féliciter la Consule générale, Julie Duhaut-Bedos, pour son leadership exceptionnel durant un mandat inspirant et aux multiples réalisations importantes, qui se terminera l’automne prochain. Nous la remercions chaleureusement pour les excellentes collaborations menées entre son équipe et le Québec, notamment le partenariat entre la SODEC - Société de développement des entreprises culturelles et la Villa Albertine, de même que ceux en éducation, Francophonie et recherche scientifique. 🙏 Nous lui souhaitons une transition personnelle et professionnelle des plus agréables et enrichissantes, puis sommes convaincus que nos chemins se recroiseront certainement à nouveau. 🌟

🎉 Notre équipe, en collaboration avec le Centre de la francophonie des Amériques, a eu le plaisir de participer au congrès annuel de l'American Association of Teachers of French - AATF. Cet événement a offert une opportunité unique d’échanger avec plus de 150 participants des États-Unis sur des sujets relatifs à la #francisation et à la diversité culturelle de la #Francophonie, puis de se projeter vers la prochaine édition, à Chicago en juillet 2025. En marge du congrès, nous avons eu l’honneur d’inviter des partenaires clés au spectacle #DuelReality du collectif québécois Les 7 Doigts / The 7 Fingers. Nos invités ont pu témoigner de la créativité québécoise et vivre une expérience unique et immersive, avec des places situées aux premières loges, sur scène! 🎭✨ Toutes nos félicitations aux artistes, meilleure continuation pour la tournée à San Diego et Los Angeles, puis un grand merci pour votre générosité et le temps accordé pour discuter avec nous en privé! 👏👏 🎉 Our team, in collaboration with the Centre de la francophonie des Amériques, had the pleasure of participating in the annual convention of the American Association of Teachers of French - AATF. This event offered a unique opportunity to exchange with over 150 participants from the United States on topics related to #francisation and the cultural diversity of the #Francophonie and then to look ahead to the next edition, in Chicago in July 2025. In parallel with the conference, we were honored to invite key partners to the #DuelReality show by Quebec collective Les 7 Doigts / The 7 Fingers. Proud to support NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) with their annual InFocus: Canadian Cinema Festival. The program spotlights independent Canadian storytellers in a program that spans a collection of thirteen short films across two shorts programs, including alumni of SXSW, Tribeca and Slamdance. Happening on Saturday July 13th in Los Angeles, we are delighted to announce that 4 movies from Québec directors are presented in this year’s program:   •  A Toi Les Oreilles by Alexandre Isabelle •  Lumen by Stéphanie Bélanger •  Je Me Souviens by Raphaël Pettigrew •  ick by Indi Opzoomer NFMLA showcases films by filmmakers of all backgrounds throughout the year, across both their general and InFocus programming. All filmmakers are welcome and encouraged to submit their projects for consideration for upcoming NFMLA Festivals, regardless of the schedule for InFocus programming, which celebrates diversity, inclusion, and region by spotlighting communities of filmmakers within their filmmaking community as part of their monthly program. 🎪 Last Thursday evening, we had the immense pleasure of attending Le Groupe Cirque du Soleil's mesmerizing production of "Kooza", with valued business contacts, under the iconic and intimate Big Top of the Cirque at Laguna Hills Mall. 😍 "Kooza" took us on a thrilling journey filled with jaw-dropping acrobatics, vibrant costumes, and a captivating storyline that seamlessly blended humor and heart. From the daring Wheel of Death act to the mesmerizing aerial performances, each act was more breathtaking than the last. The live music and energetic choreography added an extra layer of magic to the already enchanting experience. 🙏 We want to extend our sincere gratitude to the exceptional team of Le Groupe Cirque du Soleil and his Vice President of Communications and Marketing, Luc Boucher, for making this unforgettable evening possible. 🎫 If you haven't had the chance to witness the magic of Cirque du Soleil, we highly recommend seizing the opportunity before August 4th.
