Last night, Desert Care Network was honored to receive the President's Award from the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented at the chamber's Installation and Business Awards Dinner in recognition of our longstanding support of community organizations. Michele Finney, CEO of Desert Care Network, accepted the award on behalf of our doctors, nurses and staff. Thank you to the business community for this honor.

Congratulations to our graduating physician residents and fellows! The Class of 2024 includes physicians in the following specialties: 12 Family Medicine, 10 Emergency Medicine, two Surgical Critical Care, one Emergency Ultrasound and one Family Medicine - Obstetrics. Desert Care Network was proud to sponsor the 2024 Dr. Carreon Foundation Scholarship Awards event, where 66 students received nearly $180,000 in scholarships for college or trade school. One of those recipients was Raymond Ortega, who we hosted at our table along with his mom Gina Ortega, during the event held June 9 at Coachella Valley High School Auditorium. Congratulations to Raymond, who will attend COD taking culinary classes with his scholarship. Keynote speeches were delivered by Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez and Desert Healthcare District Board Member Leticia De Lara, who are both alumni of CVHS. What an inspiring event!

Hi-Desert Medical Center staff acknowledged the valiant work of EMTs and paramedics in the Morongo Basin and San Bernardino County who provide the first line of care to our patients. To show our gratitude during #EMSWeek, members of the hospital staff visited emergency medical providers, including San Bernardino County Fire Station #41 and Morongo Basin ambulance crews. Thank you for all you do!

We are celebrating #EMSWeek at JFK Memorial Hospital by sharing a delicious lunch with the amazing first responders who are saving lives every day. Thank you for everything you do to keep our communities safe and healthy!

It was Taco Tuesday at Desert Regional in honor of #EMSWeek. Our first responders were greeted with traditional birria by Outside the Masa food truck -- and words of thanks from our staff over the noon hour. Thank you, EMS teams for your commitment to facing the unknown and beginning the journey of compassionate care for patients on their way to the hospital.
