Our team had the profound honor of walking in the annual Memorial Day Parade Monday, paying tribute to the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. It was a humbling experience, reminding us of the true meaning of this day. Marching alongside veterans and their families, we felt a deep sense of gratitude and respect for the courage and dedication of those who have defended our freedom. We are incredibly proud to support and honor our veterans, not just today but every day. Their legacy of service and sacrifice is a beacon of strength and hope for all of us. Congratulations to Didi Garcia from the Recreation Department - a Park District Values Champion! The Park District’s Values Recognition Program recognizes staff who live the District's Values. Throughout the year, staff can acknowledge their co-workers by submitting Values Cards. Those who earn Values Cards are eligible to be randomly selected for the Values Champions award. Didi was recognized as a Values Champion for the patience, hard work and flexibility she brings to work every day when providing customer service. Today the Elmhurst Park District invited all future professionals to get an inside look at how the Park District operates! District staff participated in the annual “Take your child to work day” but expanded it to include all the kids in their lives. Kids were able to get a sneak peek at a day in the life of a park district employee, which included planting seeds at the Conservatory, doing a playground inspection at Wilder Park, teaching a fitness class at Courts Plus, participating in an event planning meeting, and even doing a mock interview! https://lnkd.in/gS8NgbcW

Today a group of staff cleaned up one of our community parks in honor of Earth Day! Our parks crew does a phenomenal job so it was in pretty good shape, but we all had some interesting finds. #earthday #staffengagement
