We partnered with Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa to complete significant energy efficiency upgrades that will help the iconic hotel reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 146 tons, the equivalent of taking 28 cars off the road for a year! In addition to helping the environment, the upgrades are good for the hotel's bottom line, reducing its energy costs by $22,000 per year. Learn more 👇
Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa worked with Eversource Energy, an NHSaves® utility partner, to identify approximately 15 projects that would save a significant amount of energy without compromising the hotel’s character. Some of these projects included: - Extensive interior and exterior lighting upgrades. - A new heat pump system that saves electricity for cooling and oil for heating and replaced hundreds of window AC units. - A new intelligent kitchen vent hood system that only exhausts the air over the cooking surfaces when it senses heat. - A building envelope study and comprehensive air sealing and insulation. Stay 😎, energy savers!
On hot days like this, we're glad especially thankful for electricity. But, how do we generate the power for our fans and A/C? Our Asylum Hill and South End members got to investigate that for themselves last with thanks to the Energize Connecticut Energy in Action mobile! They learned all about electricity, the different ways we can generate power and why its important to conserve what we have! Thank you Eversource Energy for this enlightening experience!

Ensuring safety and reliability during hurricane season and year-round isn’t a one-person job. In their recent op-ed for the The Hartford Courant, our CT President Steve Sullivan and CBIA President & CEO Chris DiPentima explain the critical role close collaboration, resources, and coordination between utilities, regulators, emergency management, public safety officials, first responders, and community leaders play in being prepared to be there for our customers and communities when increasingly severe storms strike 👇
Opinion: Hurricane Beryl’s wrath show when disaster strikes, utility storm response is vital
