🔦 𝙎𝙋𝙊𝙏𝙇𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏 🔦 Meet 1st Lt. Derrick Ledford who was recently promoted to Captain and is now Chief of the Civil Enforcement Branch. He came to Fairfax County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) after serving 14 years in the United States Marine Corps. A favorite assignment during his 20-year tenure as a deputy sheriff was at the Sharon Bulova Center for Community Health. "After becoming a Crisis Intervention Team trainer, I could help change the thought pattern of law enforcement officers dealing with individuals with developmental disabilities or people experiencing a mental health crisis. It was an honor to work toward that change in attitudes and behaviors.” Read more about Captain Ledford and how you can apply for a career with FCSO: https://lnkd.in/exwp9sRn. #FairfaxCountyGovernment #EngageGrowInspire #ComeMakeADifference

QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer – the 3 simple yet powerful steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to the help they need. QPR can be learned in a 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲, 60-minute virtual training course. The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) Wellness, Health Promotion and Prevention program offers QPR trainings throughout the year to assist residents in helping others.
