We were Groovin' and Movin' during the Drop-In Program’s 60's Party! Last week we took it back a notch and traveled to the 1960s as our participants in the program were groovy with their dance moves! The tunes had us twistin' the night away and a big shoutout to everyone in attendance! Federation’s Drop-In Program offers an after hours opportunity for people to socialize and have fun in a safe, informal and relaxed setting. Those attending may choose to join various activities or just drop in, have a meal and perhaps meet new friends. For more information on how you can get involved within the program, please visit fedoforg.org. #FederationDropIn #60sParty #GroovyTimes #RetroFun #PeaceAndLove #GoodVibesOnly

Today, we recognize June 19th as Juneteenth, National Independence Day, an annual holiday commemorating the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in the state of Texas on June 19, 1865 in the last days of the U.S. Civil War. Federation of Organizations recognizes the history of “Freedom Day” with the importance to educate, and support our communities, as we persevere for racial equity, equality, and justice. We consistently honor these values through our supports and services for our staff, clients, and communities where we live, work, and serve. Join us in celebrating Juneteenth and partnering for a bright future of equity and justice for all. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #CulturalCompetence #InclusionMatters practices and policies #EquityAndEquality #JusticeForAll

June is National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month. PTSD can affect anyone who has experienced or witnessed a life threatening event, which can take many shapes- combat, sexual assaults, serious accidents, any traumatic happenings. PTSD does not always show its face immediately- sometimes symptoms can arrive long after the event- and all recovery time varies. Seeking treatment is not always easy, but early intervention can reduce the severity of symptoms. During this time, we raise awareness that there are many treatment options out there and resources to help those suffering from PTSD forge a path to a higher quality of life. This anxiety disorder can be debilitating, and with nearly 12 million people in the United States living with PTSD, it’s time to break all stigma surrounding it. If you or someone you know may be living with PTSD, you are not alone. Please call Federation today to speak with one of our professionals and see what treatment is best for you and your loved ones. To schedule a consultation, please visit fedoforg.org. #PTSDawareness #MentalHealthMatters #SupportOurTroops #BreakTheStigma #YouAreNotAlone #Federationoforganizations #Federation #Nonprofit #Treatment #Ptsd #Careforothers
