The key to distinctiveness for Western shipbuilding is technological innovation. Our ships, systems of systems where advancements in digitalization are crucial for optimizing operations, represent the heart of an industry composed not only of steel but also of high technology. During the roundtable “The Geopolitics of Shipbuilding: securing critical maritime infrastructure and the future of the seas in a NATO - EU framework” organized at our Fincantieri Marine Group headquarters in Washington, attended by former SECNAV Sean Stackley and representatives from institutions, companies, and the research community, our CEO Pierroberto Folgiero highlighted the crucial importance of high-tech Western shipbuilding for maritime defense, trade growth, economic development, and innovation drive. Thanks to our expertise in cruise, defense, and offshore sectors, and our ambition to become a leader in the strategic underwater domain, we are proud to bring the future of technology-driven shipbuilding on board, with a view to increasingly strong collaboration with the NATO. #Fincantieri #FutureOnBoard #Shipbuilding #Innovation #NATO

Testing with these new wearable robotics is going great! Our teammates work hard, so if we can make the job easier and safer, as one of our painters said, "It's a no-brainer!" These are likely to be a common sight in Fincantieri shipyards here in the United States. #Fincantieri #FincantieriMarineGroup #Robotics #Innovation FINCANTIERI Comau US Navy https://lnkd.in/dJcyyc53

For us at Fincantieri Marine Group, innovation and a desire to bring new and game-changing ideas to the table are the bread and butter of a bright shipbuilding future. This summer we are proud to award the second edition of the Fincantieri Maritime Scholarship to six deserving Virginia Tech students. The summer research program provides students with the opportunity to work alongside Fincantieri Subject-Matter Experts to gain technical guidance as they develop initiatives that could very well change the future for the better. While collaborating on their respective projects, each participant will also have the opportunity to learn about FMG’s brand, culture and business. To our recipients, congratulations, and we look forward to seeing the impressive outcome of your hard work! #FincantieriMarineGroup #Fincantieri #Engineering #VirginiaTech #Scholarship

We were recently awarded contracts to build two future Constellation-class Frigates (FFG 66 & FFG 67) for the U.S. Navy in our Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard, and last week in Madrid, Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro announced that FFG 67 will be named USS Gálvez. But do you know why he chose this name? -Bernardo de Gálvez played an important role in securing U.S. Independence during the American Revolution -He supported American colonists by providing supplies and military aid -He led Spain to defeat Great Britain in multiple battles, and in 1781 seized Pensacola, even getting wounded in the process -He was recognized by George Washington for his huge impact on America’s success during the Revolution and in 2014 U.S. Congress granted him honorary citizenship of the United States We don’t know about you, but we’re certainly impressed! #Fincantieri #FincantieriMarineGroup #USNavy #USSGalvez
