Merchants Capital was proud to join Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO), Kansas City, Missouri Mayor Quinton Lucas, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Sandra Thompson, Flaherty & Collins Properties, TWELFTH STREET HERITAGE DEVELOPMENT CORP and key stakeholders from Freddie Mac and the FHFA for a property tour of Jazz Hill Apartments. The properties, originally constructed in 1908, are currently undergoing a $38M rehabilitation and will provide safe and affordable housing for 181 families on Kansas City's east side. Merchants was proud to finance the debt and tax credit equity financing for such a transformational housing development that has sat vacant for over 30 years. We are so grateful for the vision from Flaherty & Collins, Twelfth Street, and key stakeholders in Kansas City who supported this project. We'd also like to thank Freddie Mac and our tax credit equity investors for their ingenuity and support as we navigated a complicated structure to maximize financial proceeds to support the capital stack. Another busy week here! We continue to stretch our boundaries and increase the communities that we’re active in! Wednesday we collaborated in Connecticut with ULI Westchester/Fairfield to showcase The August at Steelpointe in Bridgeport. Robert Christoph, Jr , President of RCI Marine and Ryan D. Cronk, Partner at Flaherty & Collins Properties lead us through the complexities of marina and deep water port development— and what it takes to deliver on this amazing vision. Sponsored and hosted by Pullman & Comley, LLC (who also completed the bond work) we had a great view of the site! Thursday - we worked with Fuss & O'Neill on a walking tour of Manchester NH, held our Pathways to Inclusion Meeting and were treated to a tour and presentation of 1515 Commonwealth by the development team which includes Davis, TOCCI and RODE Architects Inc. . 1515 Commonwealth Avenue is a new luxury development bringing 252 housing units to Brighton. The development is comprised of two distinct buildings: 1515 Comm Ave, an eight-story condominium building offering 102 units, and Hew, a seven-story, 150-unit multifamily rental building. Thoughtfully designed and constructed to reflect the site’s history as a former granite quarry, the development sits atop one of the highest points in Boston and offers sweeping views of the city skyline and Charles River. #housing #realestate #realestatedevelopment
