At FlowIntell, we're currently undergoing usability studies to understand our users' privacy and data concerns. The article linked below by Stephanie Stacey from the Financial Times discusses the significant investment in #femtech, particularly in #fertility and #menstrual #health technology, which has attracted $4.9 billion over three years. Despite this growth, privacy concerns, especially after the US 2022 abortion ruling, pose challenges. Apps like Flo Health Inc. and Clue have faced scrutiny for data privacy issues, leading to user drop-offs and increased regulatory pressure. To counteract this, companies are enhancing their privacy policies, with features like Flo’s “anonymous mode” and Clue’s emphasis on EU privacy regulations. However, these measures have affected profitability and growth, with many apps shifting to subscription models to sustain revenue. Flo, for instance, saw a 40% revenue increase in 2023, driven by 3.4 million paying subscribers.
