Yesterday, we participated in the 2nd year of Project Purpose! We introduced GEDIA and spoke on how important quality parts are to recent high school graduates that are using this program to gain full-time employment. We are proud to support this program and can't wait to see what these young adults accomplish!

May is Mental Health Month! This month, we planned different activities each week for our employees to promote mental health. We encouraged walking, handed out mental health resources, colored a poster, wore green (the color of mental health awareness), provided healthy lunch and more! By promoting mental health awareness and opening the conversation, we can help stop the stigma. 🧡 🧠 💪

Yesterday, we celebrated Bernd and Petra Maiworm and all they have done for our facility in Dalton, Georgia. Three years ago, they left their life behind in Germany to help build up the GEDIA Georgia facility. Their leadership, guidance, and knowledge of GEDIA practices is the reason we can be proud of where we are today. Willingness to change is one of our 3V's and as we say goodbye to Bernd and Petra, we must be willing to continue the path they have laid for us. Thank you, Bernd and Petra, for everything you have done. We will miss you both!

It was a pleasure to have Jana Finke visit GEDIA North America to collaborate and provide feedback to key users in each department! Ms. Finke served an important role to help support GEDIA in global efforts. 🌎
Until last month, I had the privilege of supporting GEDIA North America on-site in implementing the initial crucial steps toward automating and enhancing transparency for production metrics. 📊 Collaborating with the team was both inspiring and enlightening. Together, we worked on innovative solutions to optimize processes and improve data accessibility. These automations aim not only to save time but also to enhance the quality of information. 📈 Beyond the technical aspects, I gained valuable insights into the culture. I am proud to work in a company where there’s such a pleasant work atmosphere and an incredible team spirit during challenges. 💪 My personal learning is, even Microsoft Teams offers great opportunities for discussing aspects online, collaboration on-site should not be underestimated. Additionally, being immersed in a different cultural context reminds us to look beyond our own upbringing and reconsider our values. After being a part of the pilot Project Purpose program, GEDIA is committed to supporting this valuable project again this year. Project Purpose is a program for recent high school graduates who are going straight into the workforce. This program teaches important life skills and helps introduce young adults to career opportunities in the area. Every March, 64 of the best college basketball teams compete in a three-week tournament to crown the NCAA Champion. Employees at GEDIA Georgia tested their basketball knowledge against each other to crown their own tournament champion! This year, Kai-Lee Goodman (HR) came in 1st place, Martin Reyes (Quality) came in 2nd place, and Chris Clayton (Maintenance) received the infamous participation trophy for last place. 🏀 🏆
