From Coast to Coast: As summer drew to a close, notable infrastructure victories unfolded on both the East and West Coasts. Out West, Skanska USA, the American branch of the Sweden-based contractor and developer, sealed a substantial deal with the Washington State DOT. The agreement, valued at $834 million, focuses on operational improvements along a 4.5-mile section of the I-405 corridor in Bothell, Washington. The I-405-SR 167 corridor is integral to a burgeoning region, as per the Washington DOT, necessitating the addition of new lanes, direct access ramps, and infrastructure to accommodate the growing population, businesses, and job opportunities, all in support of the Stride Bus Rapid Transit program. On the East Coast, the New York DOT has chosen E.E. Cruz, a subsidiary of Flatiron headquartered in Whitestone, New York, to execute a $137.7 million project. This project's primary objective is to replace the Bronx River Parkway Bridge, enhancing safety on the crossing and improving mobility throughout the Bronx.
