UGT1A1 is a treatment toxicity biomarker that can predict severe side effects from irinotecan chemotherapy used in colorectal cancer treatment. DPYD is a biomarker that can predict the risk of severe side effects from fluorouracil and capecitabine related chemotherapy drugs used in colorectal cancer treatment. 2-8% of the population has a change in the DPYD biomarker that puts them at increased risk of severe toxicity from these medications at the usual doses. https://lnkd.in/e3qGUAu4 #colorectalcancer #dpyd #knowyourbiomarker
