We love following along for JOHN HENEGHAN CSCSA's journey into using gNext for Public Safety! Nice & crisp model🫡
Harnessing the power of drone technology, The Skydio Training Team scanned the President Wm. McKinley National Monument located in the McKinley Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Blending history with technology to preserve its legacy in a modern context. Working with gNext Labs and digitizing the statue, we aimed to bridge the gap between the past and present, ensuring future generations can appreciate and interact with this historical artifact in innovative ways, while honoring its significance in local history and culture. The Skydio X2 drone and the remarkable technology of gNext Labs scanning the President Wm. McKinley National Monument in Chicago, Illinois, marks a significant advancement in the preservation and study of historical landmarks. By deploying high-resolution drones, preservationists can capture detailed 3D images and data, allowing for an unprecedented level of accuracy in monitoring the monument's condition. This technology not only facilitates precise documentation but also aids in the early detection of wear and damage, enabling timely interventions that help preserve the monument for future generations. Moreover, the data collected can be used to create virtual tours, making the monument accessible to a broader audience who may not be able to visit in person. The use of drones in scanning historical statues and the technology of gNext Labs photogrammetry software exemplifies the innovative intersection of technology and heritage conservation. It also provides a safer alternative for conservators, eliminating the need for them to work at potentially hazardous heights. As the technology evolves, its application could extend to other historical sites, revolutionizing how we preserve and interact with our #culturalheritage. The integration of drone technology into monument preservation not only enhances our ability to maintain these structures but also enriches our understanding and appreciation of history through cutting-edge innovation. #chicagohistory #chicago #skydioforall #dronesforgood #photogrammetry #dronetechnology Click on the link below and let me know what you think https://lnkd.in/gGHw64D3
