The new mural on Nova Labs' facade was created through a collaboration between FCED and Nova Labs, funded partly by a grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC). Artist David Barr designed the vibrant digital image featured in the mural. This project highlights the power of community partnerships and public funding in promoting local arts and cultural enrichment. Bradley Matthews, Trish Barber, Tom Ross

We’re working towards advancing the future of urban sustainability in the City of Fairfax, Virginia. 🌱 While agricultural production has traditionally taken place outdoors, recent advancements have increased the feasibility of indoor commercial agriculture – sometimes called enclosed, or urban agriculture. Currently, the City’s Zoning Ordinance permits only limited commercial agricultural uses, but with the work of FCED, we are seeking to change that. At tonight’s work session, staff will review a series of draft amendments on urban agriculture.
