The disparity becomes evident when we compare productivity across different farm sizes: Small Farms (<$350K in total sales): 1 full-time employee generates approximately $36K in sales. Midsize Farms ($350K-$999K): 1 full-time employee generates about $161K in sales. Large Farms ($5M or more): 1 full-time employee generates roughly $212K in sales. These numbers clearly illustrate the productivity advantages of being a larger producer in the U.S. agricultural sector. The efficiencies gained through scale are undeniable and play a critical role in the economic viability of farming operations.
