This summer, two interns joined our investment team to conduct an extensive 300+ page analysis of the factors driving differential returns over a 7-year time period. We analyzed the best and worst performing stocks across sectors, gaining insights into the key drivers of shareholder value. At the core of our methodology was an in-depth assessment of each company's competitive advantages. We analyzed intangible assets like brand equity, switching costs, network effects, and more to gauge the contribution of each firm's economic moat to shareholder return.
