2024 Trend Spotlight: Flow Sensors for Smarter Irrigation Ensure a seamless operation of your irrigation system with the latest innovation in 2024 – Flow Sensors. These cutting-edge flow meters are designed to promptly detect and report overflow or underflow conditions, with a sensitivity of as little as 0.25 gallons per minute (GPM). Paired with a master valve, these sensors have the capability to autonomously shut down the system when necessary. By installing a flow sensor, you gain real-time insights into two critical issues: 1. Underflow Conditions: Receive timely alerts when watering ceases, preventing potential damage to plants from insufficient water. Detect problems with pumps early on, mitigating potential larger issues. 2. Overflow Conditions: Identify and address wasteful water usage caused by line breaks, broken sprinklers, or stuck valves. In the event of an abnormal flow pattern, you or your customer will be promptly notified by the irrigation controller. Some advanced controllers can send emails or texts to alert users of issues and can automatically shut down the affected zone or master valve if irregularities are detected across all zones. Alternatively, simpler systems may display an alarm on the controller interface. Discover the reliability and precision of Flomec's new flow meters, which eliminate the need for a paddle wheel. These meters are gaining popularity in commercial projects, providing a dependable solution to enhance irrigation system efficiency. Connect with our experts to explore the possibilities and advantages offered by Flomec's innovative flow meters!

Staying Productive in the Hottest Month Summer slowdown? Not this year! Long days and hard work can drag on your team's nerves and motivation. Get ahead of burnout! Project a great attitude: You set the tone.  If you're motivated, it's contagious. Every day is a new opportunity for success. Take advantage of it and be excited. Build each other up; don't complain. Recognize good work: Motivate by practicing "random recognition" (the occasional pat on the back) as well as "structured recognition" (giving a small reward for meeting goals). Let them know how proud you are of their accomplishments. Take 5 to plan: Use 5 extra minutes to plan the day. What needs to happen? What obstacles could arise? What loose ends need to be closed up? Let the group decide how to structure the work. Goals motivate: Team members need to know exactly what to do and the results you want them to achieve. Be clear on individual targets and measurements; what's acceptable and what's not. Surprise! Offer special treats or goodies that show you care. A cooler with sports drinks, healthy snacks and ice is always welcome on any job site. -The Team at H.D. Fowler
