This week we're spotlighting a previous #SeasonsOfService project with HOBY Youth Leadership in Jackson, MS! Two of our dedicated team members spent their time working with high school students, teaching them essentials of leadership & service. HOBY's core belief reflects our own, that all students have the potential to lead. Their seminars bring students together across different backgrounds, cultures and communities to help them discover a newfound sense of awareness, confidence, connection and purpose. "As a facilitator, we each led a group of 10 high school students, nominated by their schools, through 2 days of activities teaching both personal and group leadership. We spent one day volunteering with the Mississippi Food Network to also give them a sense of service leadership & how to make a difference in their communities." Our #SeasonsOfService project highlight this week is with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America in Mobile, Alabama. #BBBS held their annual Field Trip at the GulfQuest Museum, and our team members were there representing HORNE, as part of a group of professionals representing Mobile. While a few team members set up a table with information about our firm, others welcomed the incoming children to the beginning of their tour and handed out backpacks. The children went from table to table, visiting with each representative. The rest of our group helped sign them in and assisted with a luncheon that was set up for them. Our #SeasonsOfService volunteer of the month for June is Joshua Stickling! He spent time serving with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge where he cut and installed siding on the back porch of one of the homes. This task was one of the last steps for the exterior, allowing the team to move inside and stay on track for a final walk-through in 8-10 weeks.
