Visit Huntington Beach would like to recognize and congratulate Denice Yeager, Heather Saez, and Omark A. Holmes, MBA, CDME, for their recent educational milestones! Visitor Experience Specialist Denice completed the City of Huntington Beach's Citizens Academy, a 9-week program that dives into the City's operations. The information in this program will be helpful for Denice during her on-the-job interactions with visitors and residents. Heather, Director of Visitor & Partner Services, graduated from the Robert Mayer Leadership Academy! The 9-month program is part of the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce and provides leadership training to the city's current and future leaders. There's no doubt this program has made a lasting impression on the community and will benefit Heather for many years to come. Finally, Visit HB's Chief Marketing Officer, Omark A. Holmes, has officially completed Destinations International's Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) program! The 9th edition of the ISA World Para Surfing Championship (WPSC) will return to Huntington Beach, California, November 3-9, 2024. The event was held last year in Huntington Beach for the first time with over 180 athletes representing 27 national teams competing across 9 different Para Surfing Sport Classes and featured some of the best performances ever seen in Para Surfing competition, including a perfect 10 from 3-time Winter and Summer Paralympic Gold Medalist Alana Nichols (USA). Presented by Visit Huntington Beach, 2024 WPSC will no doubt see more records broken as the ISA furthers its mission to see Para Surfing included in the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
