  • 🌟 Our gratitude to the local chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for their generous $500 donation to support the PIVOT Program! This contribution will help provide mentoring and tutoring for at-risk youth in our community. 📚✨ Even more exciting - this donation will be matched $1 for $1 by the State of Florida through the School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program, in which state funding is matched to local donations to impact student achievement across Florida. Together, we're making a real difference! 🙌 A special thank you to Mrs. Linda Hill, Beta Sigma Phi Member, for coordinating this donation to INK! #CommunitySupport #1to1Match #Gratitude #investinginkids

On Thursday, June 20, joined by the Gillespie Family, Chris Shee, Superintendent Tim Forson, and St. Johns County Fire Rescue Section Chief Stephanie Whaley we awarded the first Tanner Gillespie Memorial Scholarships to two St. Johns County graduates, Brady Bottin, Creekside High School, and Caleb Ellinger, Beachside High School. Brady and Caleb are preparing to enter Fire Fighting School at First Coast Technical College this fall. Established in 2023, the Tanner Gillespie Memorial Scholarship honors Tanner Alan Gillespie, a Bartram Trail High School graduate who passed away in a tragic accident in November 2023. A natural-born helper, Tanner dreamed of becoming a firefighter with the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department - just like his father, who reached the rank of lieutenant. Following graduation, Tanner pursued his passion and began a career with JFRD. To help other students achieve a similar dream, the Tanner Gillespie Scholarship Endowment was launched to help fund the expenses including tuition, equipment and books to attend Fire School at FCTC. Established by Chris Shee, MasterCraft Builder Group, Premier Pools and Outdoor Living, and the Shee Family, the endowment will help fund at minimum one St. Johns County student's dream to become a Fire Fighter. Congratulations, Brady and Caleb! We all look forward to seeing you graduate as Fire Fighters in 2025! Learn more about the Tanner Gillespie Memorial Scholarship or how to apply in 2025, by visiting the "Senior Scholarships" tab at https://lnkd.in/er74dKc6 To support the Tanner Gillespie Scholarship Endowment, visit https://lnkd.in/ek7a3bse #scholarships #CTE #careereducation #investinginkids St. Johns County School District
