Our Longview and Victoria sites have once again earned Caring for Texas awards from the Texas Chemical Council (TCC). These awards are in recognition of the sites’ demonstrated commitment to community engagement, emergency response programs and pollution prevention measures. Please join us in congratulating our teams in Longview and Victoria on this achievement!

INVISTA Victoria enjoyed helping sponsor the 2024 Texas Water Safari last month, considered The World’s Toughest Canoe Race, and we’re already looking forward to next year! The 260-mile race welcomed more than 160 boats and 300 paddlers from across the globe who had four days and four hours to finish the race. INVISTA Victoria offered a dry place to stop, hydrate and check in with teammates, race officials and spectators. While the winners don’t receive any prizes, they earn Texas-sized bragging rights. Congratulations to all the participants and we’ll see you again next year!

Even though Safety Month is every month for INVISTA employees, we didn’t want National Safety Month to go by without recognizing the extensive training our teams do across our sites. In Houston, for example, we train every quarter for both fire and rescue with the Texas A&M Engineering Extension (TEEX) Fire School. We have 45 members on the onsite emergency response team and we recently doubled our number of medics from 9 to 18. Proud of our employees and their dedication to safety first! 

Our Longview team was honored to receive the 2024 American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) Silver Elite Award selected by a committee of 21 safety professionals. This award recognizes sites that have attained top industry safety performance for the year and demonstrated top-tier innovation and leadership. INVISTA Longview employees are proud to be recognized for our prioritization of safe and reliable operations.

Last week, INVISTA had the honor of hosting our first scholarship ceremony in partnership with Shanghai Chemical Industry College. Through our global scholarship programs, we aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills for success and positive contributions to society. We wish this talented group of individuals much success and fulfillment in their future careers.

Congratulations to INVISTA Victoria for achieving International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification of its processes to verify and validate bio, circular and bio-circular feedstocks use. This certification reflects INVISTA’s commitment to responsible management of our resources.    By offering ISCC PLUS certified products, we can help our customers around the world achieve their environmental goals.

As part of INVISTA’s Outstanding Student Scholarship Program, our Texas sites recently presented 28 scholarships to high school seniors. We are proud to recognize these students who demonstrate Principled Entrepreneurship™, and we wish them success and fulfillment in their futures!

Congratulations to INVISTA Longview! The team recently earned Region VI’s “Stars Among Stars” award from the premier global safety and health organization in our industry for exemplary achievement in employee safety. The program was established to recognize Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) participants with injury/illness rates more than 50 percent below the National Average. Our priority is employee safety and recognition like this means so much to our employees and their families.

The INVISTA Rozenburg site in the Netherlands is taking steps to drive energy efficiency by increasing its nylon salt concentration. This initiative will reduce the site’s steam consumption, leading to energy savings and a decrease in associated CO₂ emissions. With an estimated 30% reduction in energy use, the site anticipates decreasing its CO₂ emissions by approximately 3,300 tons per year.   By continuously improving our operations, we are positioning ourselves to meet the evolving needs of our customers and partners. 

Students from the University of Arkansas, Kansas State University, Texas A&M University, Clemson University, the University of Puerto Rico and other schools participating in the University of Arkansas’ Research for Undergraduates (REU) Program recently took a tour of the INVISTA lab in Longview, Texas and had a chance to ask questions about polypropylene and careers in the chemical industry. We really enjoyed meeting this bright group of undergraduates!
