A major risk of invasive procedures is the introduction of germs leading to infection. Failure to properly disinfect medical devices or sterilize surgical instruments may lead to infections from contaminated medical equipment. This webinar will outline steps to be taken prior to disinfection of medical devices or sterilization of surgical instruments in a sterile processing department to ensure effective reprocessing for use on the next patient. This webinar, presented by the Iowa HHS and ECRI, is designed for Iowa’s frontline healthcare workers with a focus on those who interact in any capacity with persons seeking healthcare, including physicians, nurses, patient care technicians, and non- clinical staff. Speakers - Margaret Miller, BS, MT(ASCP)M, CIC, FAPIC, Infection Preventionist, ECRI - Katherine Lunt, MPH, MBA, CIC, HEM, Infection Preventionist, ECRI Register for this FREE webinar.
