Throughout the month of February, we hosted several employee events such as a Ski Race, an Ice Sculpture Contest, Photo Contest and look forward to hosting a Cardboard Box Race in early March. Today our, 'Have Fun Committee' sat down to judge over 100 photo submissions that came in for the Employee Photo Contest and there was one in particular we would like to share. The photo below was taken by one of our Boot fitters, Nikko Grambow. The photo was taken south of our resort boundaries on the south face of, No Name Peak. As Nikko writes, "I had been dreaming of this one for a while now and could not be more grateful for this experience. Shout out to the people and spirits that helped make it happen and made it special." As an important reminder, "If you don't know don't go" We do not encourage the inexperienced to venture out of bounds.

The Resort is owned and operated as a special use permitee of Bridger Teton National Forest. Summer and Winter operations include the aerial tram and other lift access activities including biking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding and paragliding.

As we begin to wind down the winter season here at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, we look forward to Rendezvous Music Festival! Rendezvous Fest is a two-day music festival set against the most iconic backdrops imaginable for our incredible music acts: historic downtown Jackson Town Square and the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. This year’s lineup features platinum-selling indie rock heroes, The Head and The Heart headlining with Jamestown Revival on Friday, April 5 in Town Square and Mt. On March 21st we held the annual Employee Cardboard Box Race! This is a very fun tradition held on the mountain that brings great energy and creativity by all. Results: 12 Teams total with 9 departments represented. Tie for Runners up: Rub-a-Dub-Dub in a Tub, represented by the Teton Village Sports department and Cool Runnings from Lift Operations! FIRST PLACE and defending champions: TotWheels represented by our beloved Daycare department! Fastest time went to Team Lisan Al Giab with a smokin' time of 14.75 seconds with second place to Cool Runnings crossing the finish line at 15.9. Fun time had by all. Special thanks to our Race and Events Crew for netting and safety. To top it all off we had our new owners, Eric and Mike to judge! Thank you for a wonderful day, everyone! This video was taken in 2018 and shows one of the seven Gazex Avalanche systems that we have at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. These systems allow us to do avalanche mitigation remotely.
The combination of rope access and helicopters is critical in environments where the location is remote and access difficult. Here we see part of a MND Gazex avalanche exploder system being delivered at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort as part of their avalanche mitigation program. What better way to ensure no food gets wasted AND have a fun party to show our employees how much we appreciate them!!! Thank you Hole Food Rescue for this incredible partnership! We cannot wait to do it again!
In conjunction with some pretty incredible co-workers, yesterday I had the pleasure of organizing and hosting an Employee Après for our wonderful workforce at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. We are always thinking of ways to say "Thank You" to our hardworking staff and blasting ABBA and pouring some local beers felt right. The day before the event, I got a call from Hole Food Rescue, a local non-profit in town that reported a truck load of food was going to the landfill if it was not taken the next morning. Being the largest employer in Jackson Hole, and already having organized an employee event, it was a no-brainer to combine the events and ensure that no food went to waste. Within an hour, several hundred employees filed in and out of our events tent gathering groceries, dancing to some tunes and mingling with co-workers over a few cold beers. It is events like these that show the power of community! Again, thank you to our employees, and THANK YOU to the wonderful Hole Food Rescue for all that you do for our community on a daily basis.
