We are excited to host this awesome group of summer interns (Devin Berry, Colin Batliner, Cade Supica, and Rickey Brown) in our Electric division! These #ElectricalEngineering students bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to our team. This week, the interns and other team members were able get a tour of our power plant from our Executive Director of Electric Production, Don Stahl! #FutureLeaders #Utilities

BPU is currently in year 4 of our 10-year pole inspection program. So far, we have inspected almost 19,000 of the nearly 58,000 wooden poles in our system, and we have replaced close to 1,300 poles! Programs like this help to improve system reliability and public safety throughout our community. #PublicPower #Utilities

We would like to once again congratulate our General Manager, Bill Johnson for being nominated for Executive of the Year at the Waymaker Awards! It is amazing have a leader who is dedicated to serving the community.
Bill Johnson, General Manager at the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU), is nominated for Executive of the Year at The Waymaker™ Awards! "I believe in giving. I believe in sharing. I believe in also making sure that others are afforded the opportunity to be able to be as successful as I've been. There are people that are less fortunate and people that are in need of United Way support. If I can continue to reach out to the younger generation and continue to increase and support the amount of giving we do, that would be a legacy I'm proud of." We will announce our winners at the award ceremony on Thursday, July 11. Join us and raise a toast to those making a difference in Kansas City! buff.ly/3Vct2zU

Earlier this week, the BPU Water Division hosted an Emergency Preparedness Tabletop exercise where employees from across the utility were able to simulate emergency scenarios. The exercise was a great time for our team to proactively review, discuss and practice our roles to better prepare us for real life emergency situations. #Utilities
