Earlier this week we partnered with City Year New York and Community Team Works volunteers from Goldman Sachs to host an Empowerment Day as part of our Get Hired employment program. Empowerment Days provide young people with the opportunity to practice their interview skills with corporate volunteers before experiencing real interviews with employers looking for new hires at Get Hired events. Last week we celebrated the next generation of CEOs at the inaugural US Enterprise Challenge Finals in New York City! 🙌 This event brought together innovative and inspiring young people from Chicago, Detroit, and NYC who were asked to develop a business idea identifying and enacting solutions to societal and environmental problems impacting their communities. Following the competition, our teams enjoyed a special visit to Watches of Switzerland Group PLC and a trip up to the Edge observation deck in Hudson Yards. Congratulations to this year’s winning team, Fresh Faces🎉 Hailing from The Bronx, NY, they developed a business concept to promote fair and equitable hygiene solutions in #NYC schools! Today is #InternationalWomensDay, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and a call to action for accelerating women's equality. The Prince’s Trust was founded on the vision that every young person should have the chance to succeed. We are committed to investing in young women around the world with self-development and employability programs that enable them to progress, break cycles of poverty and discover new aspirations. In 2022/2023 The Prince's Trust supported over 40,000 young women globally and 70% of young women who participated on programs were in work, education or training after 3 months. #EmpowerWomen #investinwomen #EconomicEmpowerment #PrincesTrustUSA

We were delighted to be hosted by Embassy London USA and Ambassador Hartley at Winfield House shining a light on the needs of young people and the work of The Prince’s Trust in the UK, USA and around the world. Ambassador Hartley shared: ‘Over 70 million young people around the world are unemployed. Here in the United Kingdom, a third of those aged 16 to 25 say they cannot afford to get the qualifications they need for the job they want. The pandemic recently made finishing your education and starting your career even harder. We have these problems in the United States, too. Places where the cost of living is too high and the opportunities are too few. But these problems can be fixed. And I believe what the Prince’s Trust has done over the past 50 years should serve as an inspiration and an example for others to follow.’ Thank you to all those who attended to show their support for this next generation.
