We're back with another #EmployeePetSpotlight! Meet Harper. Harper is a rescue pup, so her mom (one of our Pharmacists, Kelsey Ruiz) is unsure of her age and breed. That being said, she turned 5(ish) on July 1. It's likely she has some lab and hound in her, because when she catches a scent, you can't stop her from tracking it down! Harper has a lot of separation anxiety when Kelsey leaves, which can be very sad, but it is the sweetest thing to know how much she loves her mom! Every day, Kelsey comes home to Harper so excited to play. Harper always grabs her favorite toy, a purple, spiky, squeaky bone, and they play fetch around the house. They have also started going on runs together, and Harper can be hard to keep up with! Harper's favorite part about Koala is meeting and playing with the other Koala employees. 🐾 #OfficePet #KoalaPets #PetSpotlight #RescueDog

As we gear up to celebrate the 4th of July, it's important to remember that while the festivities are fun for us, they can be scary and dangerous for our pets! Fireworks, picnics, and other celebrations can startle animals, causing them to run away, and holiday foods can pose health risks. The AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) has shared valuable tips to help keep pets safe during the holiday: -Ensure pets have up-to-date identification tags and consider microchipping. -Keep pets in a safe, escape-proof room or crate during fireworks. -Avoid feeding pets table scraps and keep them away from dangerous debris. -Protect pets from overheating by providing shade and water, and never leave them in a hot car.
