Last night, Wednesday, July 17, was the 17th time Lakeside Bank hosted our “Concert in the Park” in Women’s Park in the South Loop. 🎶   And our 17th anniversary was a beautiful, cool, dry, evening. A wonderful change from the heat and rain we’ve had lately. Families arrived early, parents holding hands with their kids, or pushing them in strollers. Picnic blankets were spread. Friends met friends and caught up. Kids ran around, had their faces painted, nibbled on the popcorn we provided, and spun the Lakeside Spinning Wheel to win fun prizes.   There were easily 400 people. A wonderful blend of backgrounds and races … folks who have chosen to raise their families in the South Loop. It’s wonderful to see and observe.   The VanderCook College of Music, our musical star for all 17 years, launched into their concert of classical music, marching tunes and jazz. The night was magic. 𝙇𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙨𝙤𝙛𝙩𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡! 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙫𝙨. 𝙎𝙪𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨! ⚾ Saturday afternoon was hot & muggy … but the temperature didn’t compare to the heat on the field at Lakeside Bank’s Second Annual Crosstown Classic! 16” softball has never been this exciting! Lakesiders from the bank city branches wore white t-shirts with their “City Slickers” team name. The reigning champion suburban Lakeside branches wore blue “Suburban Sluggers” t-shirts.   While the city team jumped out to an early lead, the Sluggers stormed ahead. Despite a late inning comeback attempt by the Slickers, the Suburban Sluggers won the day 14-9. The Sluggers retain their Championship 🏆 … and bragging rights for another year!   A large turnout of fellow Lakesiders, families and friends cheered both teams on. And a good time was had by all!

There is indeed such a thing as a FREE lunch! Today, folks were waiting when the taco truck pulled up to 𝑳𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝑶𝒂𝒌𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆 for our “Taco Tuesday” lunch event! AND two hours later, over 300 tacos had been served🌮 It was great to see so many of our Oakbrook Terrace, Oak Brook and Elmhurst neighbors.
