On May 2nd, we had our Core Class on Arts and Culture hosted at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts. We were joined by speakers: Catherine M. Cahill ('09), Kathryn Ott Lovell ('08), Valerie Gay ('07), and Dave Raymond. The speakers brought immense energy! Thank you for the wealth of knowledge about the work of Arts, Tourism, and Culture organizations throughout the City. We also presented each participant with their individually curated Individual Development Plan (IDP). Created from assessments, peer feedback, and self-reflection, IDPs provide a new perspective on one's own professional strengths and key action plans for future professional development.

#FBF | Wednesday I kicked my morning off at Simon Gratz High School 2024 Career Day. One of my favorite programs lead by Saroya M. Royster. If you know anything about Ms. Royster, you know that she does not play about her kids— our kids! Her impact is evident through the students and the many professionals— from the boardroom, to entrepreneurs and community leaders (and my friends 😉) that show up, no questions asked! I can’t tell you how many people when asked how they learned about the event responsed, “Saroya told me she needed me to show up, so I did.” Saroya thank you for how you love on our babies! It brings me so much joy. From Gratz to celebrating Liz Dow and her 30 year legacy at LEADERSHIP Philadelphia. I was just starting out in City Council as the Comms Director for Blondell Reynolds Brown when Katherine Gilmore Richardson recommended me for LEADERSHIP Philadelphia Keepers ( c/o 2017) ; six years later Jordan Rambo recommended me for the current Core class. Both experiences have been invaluable to my personal and professional growth and I’ve met some really amazing and talented people from across the City. Liz, thank you and congrats on your next chapter.

If you're interested in joining LEADERSHIP Philadelphia's Core Class of 2025, applications are due May 15. Reach out if you'd like to know more about the experience. Info and apply at: https://lnkd.in/gZ6QdNrZ I'm very fortunate to be a part of the Core Class of 2024 -- it's been transformative both professionally and personally. In fact I'm getting ready for our session tomorrow at Mann Center for the Performing Arts, where we'll hear from arts, culture, and tourism leaders including Catherine M. Cahill, Valerie Gay, and Kathryn Ott Lovell. It should be much warmer than when Junto 3 took this picture!
