Frisco Police Department was investigating a case in which a suspect stole jewelry from a homeowner. With a quick search in LeadsOnline, Frisco Police Department was able to identify the suspect and recover two of the stolen rings. Officer Jones of the Newton North Carolina Police Department used LeadsOnline to assist another officer in locating property from a larceny report. The report turned out to be false, and the reporting party sold the “stolen” property to a pawn shop. Officer Jones located the pawn ticket, put the property on hold through Leadsonline, and visited the pawn shop to confirm the property was there. The property in question was a Samsung 55-inch television. The reporting party was charged with obtaining property under false pretenses and filing a false police report. Leadsonline was the key information system that quickly led to locating the property and discovering the truth in this case.
