Last month, we teamed up with the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation for our first vision clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada. Over 100 vision impairments were corrected, and glasses were given to those in need, including 7-year-old Jaycelyn. Jaycelyn loves to play basketball and draw colorful anime characters. June was a month full of joy, love and pride! Our associates from across the country participated in various Pride Festivals to show support for the LGBTQIA+ community. LensCrafters and EssilorLuxottica Eye Care teams are in Nashville, Tennessee this week for one of optometry’s most important events: the 127th Annual AOA Congress and 56th Annual AOSA Conference: Optometry's Meeting®. With continuing education, professional development, networking, and business opportunities, the meeting brings together optometry students, doctors and industry leaders. The event kicked off with a LensCrafters Brand Spotlight in the EssilorLuxottica Eye Care OD Lounge where optometry students had an opportunity to engage with LensCrafters affiliated doctors and connect with EssilorLuxottica Eye Care recruiters. Over 700 optometry students joined the eyeFWD educational program, “Life Beyond Optometry School,” to explore the diverse career possibilities post-graduation. At night, students gathered at Brooklyn Bowl for the AOSA Optometry Student Bowl Powered by EssilorLuxottica and EssilorLuxottica LIVE! Student Reception to celebrate the amazing profession that is optometry. The EssilorLuxottica Eye Care team also hosted the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry Deans and Presidents Dinner. Nearly 70 attendees, including Alfonso Cerullo, President of LensCrafters and For Eyes, and Dr. Carl Spear, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Vice President, Eye Care, EssilorLuxottica North America, discussed critical topics impacting optometry education and our continued focus on advancing the optometry profession. #LensCrafters #BecauseSight #APlaceForVisionaries

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a pivotal day in American history. On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom, marking the end of slavery in the United States.
