We're kicking off our second Project O.R.C.S. Dev Chat in Discord at 5 PM EST today - join us as we talk about all things Design! From the role of Safeholds in the game and how they function within our campaign model to failing forward with Boons & Banes, as well as what collaborative storytelling means for us. The Boons and Banes system – what we call baboons for short – is the heartbeat of Project O.R.C.S. It’s a mechanic that we built to build off dice rolling in traditional tabletop settings. It’s grown to become one of the primary drivers that moves our gameplay forward. Our CEO Matt Schembari broke down how the system came to be in an op-ed on Game Developer. Give it a read:
