Congratulations to the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District and the city of Rancho Cucamonga for officially opening Station 178, a new all-electric fire station, which will house the third electric fire truck in the country. The resilient facility can safely operate off the grid for at least 24 hours without using fossil fuels, and serve as a resource for the community for decades. #changinglivesbydesign #designforpublicsafety #sustainabilityindesign

For the fourth time in five years, LPA has earned The American Institute of Architects (AIA)'s highest honor for education design. During the recent 2024 AIA Conference on Architecture & Design in Washington, D.C., LPA received an Education Facility Design Award of Excellence from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) for the renovation of Sidney Lanier High School in San Antonio, Texas. The design turned a windowless, 175,000-square-foot brick-clad box into a bright, open array of learning environments where 100% of spaces have access to natural light and views, while cutting construction costs and offsetting about 4,000 metric tons of carbon. https://lnkd.in/grb_p6hH #changinglivesbydesign #educationaldesign #americaninstituteofarchitects

Global pharma and biotech manufacturing leader Catalent Pharma Solutions had modest expectations for a recent 9,500-square-foot expansion of its analytical development lab in San Diego, California. Instead of a “copy & paste,” LPA designers dug deep to design a lab that elevates wellness and quality of life. https://lnkd.in/gsFWDSEX #changinglivesbydesign #labdesign #wellnessindesign
