Producing one-off custom end-of-arm tooling doesn’t scale well for changes in automation platforms and product packaging. By forgoing costly one-off conventional fabrication routes, the Farason team were able to scale their solution to meet evolving needs with Markforged. After confirming and testing their design, they were able to then deploy the solution to four robots, adding a series of product- matched receiver plates. The Farason team reported that the Markforged solution is 25% of the costs of their conventional CNC milling approach. Learn more in our latest blog: https://bit.ly/3WpxA67

Fischer Connectors 3D print mould tools This mould tool is clamped down at 30 tons, with up to 1,000 PSI of plastic injection pressure heated to over 380°F (ca. 190°C). For this application, Fischer Connectors use HSHT fiberglass in order to resist deformation of the mould’s small features such as the gate and sprue. With Markforged 3D printers, the team can print a set of mould tools in just 24 to 48 hours for ~$150 – far faster and cheaper than 2 to 4 weeks at a minimum of $5,000 with traditional methods. 💡 https://lnkd.in/dPTNT7Gh Materials: Markforged Onyx with continuous HSHT Fiberglass.
