Learn more about Karen Lester: I am an administrative office specialist at the District Court in Baltimore City. I work for the administrative clerk assisting with tasks, such as monthly reports, budget submissions, problem-solving court applications and awards, the State of the Court report, GEARS submissions for procurement and expense reimbursements, and system access requests and recertifications. I have been with the Judiciary for 17 years, the last nine have been in my current role, and I am a graduate of the Maryland Judiciary’s Court Professional Certificate Program. In the 17 years I’ve worked for the Judiciary, I have learned so much about what goes on in the background to fulfill the Judiciary’s mission of providing fair, efficient, and effective justice for all. Besides what happens in the courtroom, there is a lot that needs to happen behind the scenes, both case-related and operationally, to make the courthouse operate as smoothly as possible, and I am proud to be a part of that. I can honestly say that I love my job, and no two days are the same. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, reading, visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Richmond, Virginia whenever I get a chance, as well as spending time with my son. I also teach in a 2nd grade Sunday school class and enjoy watching the kids learn and grow throughout the year.
I received a traffic ticket, what can I do? Traffic Citations are commonly known as traffic tickets or moving violations. They are given by police officers during traffic stops. You have 30 days from the date of your citation to pre-pay or request a hearing. If you do not do so, your driver’s license may be suspended.
