  • Celebrating Freedom and Health this 4th of July! 🎆🇺🇸 As we come together to celebrate Independence Day, let's also recognize the freedoms that impact our daily lives, including the access to quality healthcare for millions of Americans. Medicaid plays a crucial role in ensuring that low-income individuals and families receive the healthcare they deserve. This 4th of July, let's honor the spirit of community and support that Medicaid represents. Here’s how Medicaid helps safeguard our health and well-being: • Access to Essential Services Medicaid provides access to necessary medical services, including preventative care, maternity care, and chronic disease management. • Promoting Public Health Through its wide reach, Medicaid helps control the spread of disease and supports public health initiatives that benefit all Americans. • Supporting Vulnerable Populations From children and seniors to people with disabilities, Medicaid ensures that our most vulnerable citizens receive the care they need. This Independence Day, remember that access to healthcare is a right that strengthens our communities and our country. A healthier nation is a stronger nation. Wishing everyone a safe, healthy, and happy 4th of July! 🎇🎉 #4thofJuly #IndependenceDay #Medicaid #HealthcareForAll #MHPA

  • 📣 Big News from MHPA Advocacy! 🌟 Last week, MHPA leaders from across the country headed to Capitol Hill for crucial meetings with key Congress leaders. Our goal? To highlight the essential role managed care plays in the lives of Americans and to advocate for a transformative change in Medicaid that promises to improve the lives of those receiving Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS). 🔍 Our goal: compel Congress to safeguard access to vital healthcare services for our most vulnerable populations through Continuous Eligibility (CE) for the Medicaid populations receiving LTSS. Policy like this would help stop beneficiaries from falling through the cracks due to paperwork errors or temporary changes in circumstances. Why Continuous Eligibility? 👇 • Enhances health outcomes by preventing disruptions in care • Promotes health equity by ensuring consistent access to necessary services • Lowers overall healthcare costs by avoiding emergency care due to lapses in coverage We've detailed these benefits and our policy recommendations in our latest issue brief, which you can read here: Continuous Eligibility for LTSS Issue Brief https://lnkd.in/g7Br5GmR Stay tuned for updates on our advocacy and how you can support our efforts to improve Medicaid for millions across the country. Thank you to the MHPA Board Members who took the time out of their busy schedules to help elevate these important priorities. Together, we can build a stronger Medicaid program. 💪💙 #MHPA #Medicaid #ContinuousEligibility #LTSS #HealthPolicy #CapitolHill

  • 🔷 Medicaid Matters: Closing the Gap in Men's Health this June June is Men's Health Month, and we're spotlighting a crucial fact: men face a 50% higher risk of developing colorectal cancer than women. The good news? Medicaid can help. States have the authority to cover colorectal cancer screenings, making these potentially life-saving procedures accessible. Let's work together to: ✅ Increase awareness: Remind men enrolled in Medicaid about the importance of regular colon cancer screenings. ✅ Promote early detection: Encourage patients to discuss screening options with their healthcare providers. Join MHPA and healthcare professionals nationwide in supporting men's health. Together, we can make a difference. #MensHealthMonth #Medicaid #ColonCancerAwareness #GetScreened #MHPA #ColorectalCancer #EarlyDetection

  • Male Medicaid enrollees who use managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS) are more likely to be under 65 and twice as likely to be under 18 as female enrollees. Whether providing care in the home or in health care facilities, managed care organizations (MCOs) help men with disabilities and chronic conditions – regardless of age – live independently and improve their quality of life.
