The EU Pay Transparency Directive provides a legal framework to strengthen the application of the principle of equal pay for equal work between men and women for multinational companies operating in the EU and EEA. https://lnkd.in/ewXYrkPf However, the definition of equal pay under the Directive extends beyond traditional compensation to include the value of benefits and occupational pensions. Since the scope and complexity of benefits are wide-ranging – from meal vouchers, company cars, annual leave and traditional insured benefits to more complex benefits like stock options, defined benefit pensions and retirement lump sum benefits – each employee will have a unique combination of benefits that must be identified, measured and reported. A panel at the Milken Institute’s annual Global Conference provided a forum for some of the world’s largest institutional investors to share views on their approach to balancing risk and return through the lens of ESG and sustainability. It’s striking that, despite their very different investment objectives and geographic contexts, the investors were aligned on the role of ESG and sustainability.
