🌟 Spotlight on Innovation: The FaceCapture System in Action 🌟 This month at Mine Vision Systems, we're thrilled to launch a new feature that shines a light on how our technology is revolutionizing the mining industry. We're starting with a compelling success story, brought to you by Dave Pierce, one of our dedicated Enterprise Account Executives. Recently, a new client approached us with a compelling operational problem. In their words, “We need a single piece of data collection technology that can bridge the gap between geology, survey, and engineering”. As we prepared to go underground, the criteria for success of the system were: Safety and Efficiency: Could we minimize hazards while gathering comprehensive geology, survey, and engineering data more swiftly and safely, without disrupting production? And, could this be achieved by a single operator? Data Accuracy: How did the quality and consistency of the data from FaceCapture compare with traditional methods? It was crucial that the speed of data acquisition did not compromise the data's integrity. Rapid Data Distribution: The final test was the speed at which data could be delivered to the planning team on the surface. We aimed for immediate usability in 3D software packages, requiring no post-processing or manual georeferencing. Capturing precise 3D data in a safer and faster manner is critical to the production cycle. FaceCapture enabled our client to capture more data in the same amount of time, without slowing down production, alleviating the pressure that is often associated with the ore control process. Standing 20 feet away from a face under supported ground, the FaceCapture System’s built-in lighting illuminated the 15 by 15 foot face, allowing the geologists to accurately image the most recent advance (face, ribs, & back), and immediately begin digitizing important features such as lithology, structures, joint sets, and orientation and geometry of the orebody. This entire process took less than half the time of their previous workflows and was georeferenced to the mine grid in real time. By the time we were done, our technician was ready to move on to the next site, well ahead of schedule. We not only met but exceeded our promise of delivering superior data faster.
