While the definition of "reasonable cybersecurity" will become the minimum bar for companies - most SMB's still will face challenges meeting this developing requirement. What steps are you taking to ensure your organization is taking the reasonable and necessary steps to protect yourself and your customers?

Local and state governments often require the implementation of “reasonable cybersecurity” without providing a clear definition of what that entails, forcing organizations to navigate a patchwork of state laws and industry standards. The Center for Internet Security’s “Reasonable Cybersecurity Guide” provides a clear framework to protect against cyber threats and reduce legal exposure. #Cybersecurity #CIS #Compliance

As exciting as AI is to businesses, it needs a strong data governance plan. Your data needs to be stored affordably and made readily available to train the AI models. But also you need to maintain privacy and security controls over the data. If confidential or sensitive data is used to train the AI, then it will be much harder to keep it from leaking out later. Picking the right data platform (data warehouse, data lake, data lakehouse, ...), from the right vendor (Microsoft, Snowflake, Amazon, Google, ...), is a critical component of building your data program, your data governance program, and leveraging AI. Providing this guidance from a business, technology, and compliance perspective is what we at Mirability excel at for our clients. Let's have a conversation about your data governAbility and how it impacts your AI strategy. #Data #Governance #AI #Security #Compliance

User experience is a science, but also an art, which ties to how it impacts the emotions of the user. The subconscious reaction a user experiences is often the most critical factor in whether it's a good experience or bad (or just ineffective). Take the image shared here - it's of LinkedIn's top nav (a portion of it). The red number indicator on "My Network" has meant one thing for many years: someone is reaching out to you. There's an emotional response to that indicator, especially on a social network. It means someone else is thinking about you! You're curious, perhaps a little excited, so you are likely to click that button sooner and find out why. Originally, it was a person who wanted to connect with you. Later, it also included invitations to view their pages or come to their events. Or it might have been the "automatic" newsletter subscription request. But LinkedIn has decided to double up on that icon. Now it can mean all of those things - but also it could just mean a connection had a work anniversary or a birthday. And while those are both things you might want to celebrate, they do not carry the same emotional weight. They are passive, not active. They are from LinkedIn, not its users. This creates an unintentional emotional manipulation for the users. At first, it might make the feature more used - but I suspect over longer term the negative consequence will suppress usage of both of its meanings. Which surely was not the intent of the UX/UI team. As you're building applications and user experiences - it's important to think about how it plays to the emotions of your users. Your design should "bring joy" as some like to say. But it should not create disappointment or confusion, just for the sake of keeping it simple. Need help understanding the emotional side of UX? Reach out - our network includes talented UX/UI professionals who can help you avoid mistake and build a product your users truly enjoy! #UX #UI #EQ #Design #UserExperience #UserInterface

The early days of device management were hard. It was a lonely profession, riding out in the field, keeping the laptops and early mobile phones in line. Or in the IT room, imaging stacks of drives to drop into new computers. Modern, cloud-based solutions, such as Microsoft Intune, make this much easier. It's a quick and affordable way to wrangle control over your company's information and how you're protecting it. Want to learn more about modern device management and improving your endpoint security posture? Send us a message! #MDM #Endpoint #Cybersecurity

I might have a fictitious celebrity joining me this month! Or will I? The era of deep fakes is upon us. Seeing someone, once a great way to validate the sender of a message, is no longer trustworthy. Real time deep fakes are now within the hands of the casual hobbyist - meaning they're in the hands of the sophisticated criminal as well. Join me in my May Cybersecurity update as we explore the world of deep fakes and their impact on cybersecurity! #EBSpoke #Cybersecurity #DeepFake #LiveEvent #InfoSec
