Livia Daisy Birtalan, MVA Director of the German Desk, attended the 10th SelectUSA Investment Summit, with record levels of participation from over 5,000 attendees from 96 international markets and 56 states and territories, all gathering to take advantage of in-person networking and informative programming on key industry topics affecting the FDI community. A notable highlight of this year's Summit was CEO of Austria’s Greiner Packaging, who joined high-level representatives for a panel discussion on Women in Manufacturing. In conjunction with the Summit, Ambassador Petra Schneebauer hosted a ReFocus Austria networking reception for the Austrian Delegation at the Austrian Residence, which provided an excellent platform for interaction and collaboration between the Austrian delegation and key federal and state officials as a sign of Strengthening Austrian-American Economic Ties, held in Washington, DC.

Tanisha Palvia, MVA Litigation Member, was quoted in the Business North Carolina Newsletter regarding the expansion of the South Asian Bar Association of North America (SABA) with its 31st chapter launching in North Carolina last week. Palvia co-founded SABA North Carolina and will serve as the group’s first President. Having a SABA Chapter in North Carolina “expands our sense of community not just in our personal lives, but also in our professional lives,” Palvia says. SABA North Carolina is an inclusive non-profit organization focused on establishing and fostering a professional community for South Asian legal professionals across North Carolina and has both in-person events in Charlotte and the Triangle and virtual events to help reach members across the state. Anup Iyer, MVA Intellectual Property Senior Counsel, will serve on the Board for the South Asian Bar Association of North America North Carolina Chapter.
