What has not having paid leave cost you?⁠ ⁠ So often in an election year we hear about the cost of milk, the price at the pump - important things, but you know what is significantly, unsustainably more expensive? A family. And one of the biggest sources of financial and emotional stress for working people and small businesses is a lack of federal paid leave, but too often we don’t talk about supporting a family in terms of “costs.” So let’s start the conversation.⁠ ⁠ A federal paid leave program could support every working person, including the self-employed & freelancers, and it would help cover costs that would allow more small businesses to compete. Every year the economy loses more than $22 billion in wages alone in America without a federal paid leave program. Support Grant Coalition is a group of brands and individuals who are helping families impacted by the lack of federal paid leave. Together, we are providing 200 families across the country with $580 microgrants. $580 is the minimum amount the Family and Medical Act -- the current federal paid leave program in front of Congress - would provide as a monthly benefit.
